Led Free?

Saturday, February 7th, 2009

No I assure you this site is full of Led. Dont let your children eat it please.

Ive been off doing career changing and management of living in economically harsh times. What can one say, but that in a fix, most people do not consider art a nessessity, but a luxury. (Tell that to the sales person in the framing shop however.)

Miss Elycia's Cat

So my daughter is loving her Arts Academy and I cant help but think Why didnt we have such a luxury when we were children. Oh yeah I know, we were POOR ASS KIDS.

Not knocking the new wave of socio-economics in the world, however it just seems to me that alot of kids, regardless of social strata have alot more than I had as a child. Could also be that we are living in a large city, where I grew up in a small town environment. So if I do something like “deprive” my child of a cell phone, internet access, cable television and console instant action gaming, then am I doing them an injustice. I say welcome to the life of a gen X lover. Embrace creativity and use your freaking (literally) imagination.

I can remember growing up and having the most memorable fun just pretending. Not sitting watching a movie or playing a game, albeit those were fun, but the most creative fun I had was making up games or just playing them out. Hiya! Im the Karate Cat! Jumping around with the imaginings of fighting shadowy creatures that just came from no where. Just running around is the key phrase, not neccessarily talking about excersize so much as just being with yourself and the world around you.

Anyway… thats my two seconds of rant.

Im working happily now as a technical designer for a automation engineering company. And you know what, we still have creative fun in a scary world of engineers and computer drawn imagery. Go figure…

A fantastic school!

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

My wonderful and brilliant child Elycia has recently been enrolled in the Calgary Academy of Arts!

We did much research on this school before enrolling her there and they have me very pleased. I wish I had opportunities like this when I was younger. They give children freedom to experience life through art and just be children.

No authoritarianism or high autocratic demands, placing kids in rows with out of date text books. Rather, they use round tables and (still ofcourse following the governmental requirements for education), let the kids find their own research books like the rest of us in a Library.

That all aside, every subject from math, science, english and language studies to physical education, is taught using one or all of the 5 major arts. Literary, Graphic Art, Dance, Drama and Music! They actually engage kids in learning. This is the power of Art!

Ars longa, Vita Brevis - Art lasts forever, but life is breif.

Spam is a net disease. Ive grown tired of it, so I must make people register and login in order to ‘filter’ out spam bots that buzz about here.

That aside, I appologize if youve come here looking for new material. My aches and pains have retarded my ability to do almost anything. So until I can properly manage my medical issues, please dont leave just yet.

What is Going on my people.

So happenstance and haberdashery has come and gone as such is the nature of life, I delay again much to my grimace, the updating of my site. So if Im not updating this site and doing artwork, what am I doing?

Lets explore this shall we.

Firstly, to begin, it all starts with me. Ultimately the heart, mind and spirit is willing, yet the body in its fleshly carporeal state is ofcourse a complete and utter failiure to me. Sure we cut out the cancer and laid bare the chemical wastes. Yet the scars run quite physically deep and thats no metaphor. So inevitably age has set in and I come home from work, sore, tired and regretably uninspired.

This doesnt mean my creative flow is stopped, lo’ but only hindered by lack of energy to do anything about it. Infact I still have many other projects distracting what little energies I have to spare.

Secondly, I am ofcourse a family man. Kind, loving, gentile father figure of a small intimate family group. My one and only precious child is my daughter of 5 (and a half) years. SO, obviously I have a major distrac… responsibility to her. Hahah, I do give alot of time to her, she and I are great together. We have Mondays, baking and crafts day, Tuesday reading day, Wednesday game day, Thursday reading day (yes twice, cause I like edumacation.) Friday play day! and the Weekend freeforall!

I cant forget my wife ofcourse, I set time aside for her, I have to, we share a bed. (Grin) But dates are important to making a lasting relationship… etc etc… lets not go to much into mundane life details and try to tell everyone that all you need is love. (Have you seen Across the Universe or August Rush, both fantastic movies.)

Distraction 1, video games. LOL
We all love them and give us, needed entertainment. I suffice to say now that video games are similar to television in that it allows you a moment of escapism. Pure unadulterated relaxed entertainment, (this said with an air of auspice in the subject at hand as unadulterated is a word too abused.)
Check this out, I helped develope some of the graphics work for this site…
Senility Guild Gaming
And poor old GT Limbo Gaming forums is still there, lingering…
GT Limbo Nerd Gaming

Facebook! Booo Whaahahaha! Yeah is there anything with soo much distraction involved. Its like its made for the modern child with Attention Deficit Disorder!

So its a whole lotta fun… and no I have not neglected my sketchbook, I just havent posted much from it yet…
Latest Furry Sketch

Keep checking on me, I may just decide to rant here about nothing and everything fun…

A PC Cleaning Technician

Sunday, February 3rd, 2008

So after being busted up and layed out for too long, I have found a new job. I can officially call my self a Technician. I esentially clean, sanitize and maintain electronics. Particularly computers.

PC Clean, its a good job. And since Im still hobbling about with a cane and limp, it works out well for me. I really wish my body would stay together, however time and circumstance has taken its toll on me. Ill deal.

One Great Song

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

So why is this a great song? Just listen to the lyrics and the Truth they speak. The above video was posted on Youtube, with edits about world events, however that aside, the truth is we are all waiting for God to stop this ride and lift the veil on all the liars out there concealing the realities of our own invain human existence.

(Just read the lyrics, they touched me, I hope they’ll touch you.)

If Everyone Cared lyrics

From underneath the trees, we watch the sky
Confusing stars for satellites
I never dreamed that you’d be mine
But here we are, we’re here tonight

Singing Amen, I, I’m alive
Singing Amen, I, I’m alive

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we’d see the day when nobody died

And I’m singing

Amen I, Amen I, I’m alive
Amen I, Amen I, Amen I, I’m alive

And in the air the fireflies
Our only light in paradise
We’ll show the world they were wrong
And teach them all to sing along

Singing Amen, I, I’m alive
Singing Amen, I, I’m alive
(I’m alive)

[Chorus x2]

And as we lie beneath the stars
We realize how small we are
If they could love like you and me
Imagine what the world could be

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we’d see the day when nobody died
When nobody died…

We’d see the day, we’d see the day
When nobody died
We’d see the day, we’d see the day
When nobody died
We’d see the day when nobody died
